Most of us, even when we were only little girls, are dreaming for a unique wedding ceremony. Admit that, girl! Well, one of the highlights of the wedding ceremony is when the bride finally walks down the aisle. Therefore, it is important to determine first where would be really the perfect place for a couple’s wedding day.
In Tagaytay, Cavite, Splendido Taal, a well-known premiere wedding venue is proud of its wide and luxuriant green landscape of a championship golf course. But future brides and grooms can’t help but notice the fact that a golf course like Splendido Taal boasts of its allure as a perfect place to celebrate an intimate wedding ceremony.
The Spanish-Mediterranean-inspired golf clubhouse, offering the Ladera Golfer’s Lounge which can accommodate a hundred to almost 400 guests, is designed by foremost architectural firm, RR Payumo & Partners. With its high wooden ceilings and wrought-iron chandeliers, the lounge, while harboring a snug ambience, can also open its patio doors wide to let the cool wind from the nearby hill into the dining area.
Located in a picturesque area in the clubhouse, The La Esquina Spanish Restaurant can accommodate guests almost as many as 70 guests. With its magnificent floor-to-ceiling glass panels, the restaurant is undoubtedly best for very intimate wedding receptions.
Splendido Taal Golf Club offers three wedding packages offering complete buffets: Cristina, Kara, and Katrina.
What are you waiting for? Visit Splendido Taal Golf Club, Tagaytay now and see the place where the prelude to you and your loved-one’s happy ending will begin.

Remember spending two nights and three days praying and relaxing inside a room or a chapel in Tagaytay during your teenage years? Definitely almost everyone of use has experienced a retreat. I, for example, am familiar with retreat houses because as a graduate of catholic university (and even high school), I was required to attend retreat formations prior to receiving my diploma. That may be one reason why I am so fond of Tagaytay City.
Tagaytay is known to many as the center of retreat houses –place made to help people be closer to God and acquire a clearer view of life. One of these is Karis Retreat House Tagaytay
Because of responding to a higher form of love of God, the owners of Karis, the Juan Family, had given their time to their local parish for a long time. Just recently, the family realized they wanted to give thanks to the heavens more. Responding to the help of the Virgin of Guadalupe when Mr. Juan underwent Quintuple Heart Bypass Operation, they built the retreat house and named it Karit Retreat House Tagaytay (the word ‘karis’ meaning heart in Greek).
As of today, Karis Retreat House Tagaytay remains as God's unchanging invitation to people from all walks of life to accept our lives as take a step closer to the Lord.
Karis’ apostolate's mission is to provide a venue for all wherein a divine and loving conversation is created between the individual and God as echoed in Deus Caritas Est.
The Juan Family believes in the power of providing a sacred place, welcoming and accompanying each retreatant in their lifelong pursuit for love and faith in God.

Visiting Tagaytay without dining in the infamous restaurant Antonio’s is never complete. In 2010, Antonio’s was included in the Top 5 Restaurants of Miele Guide’s Asia’s Top 20 which featured more than 400 restaurants from different countries.
Besides its mouth-watering food, Chef Tony Boy Escalante’s fine-dining resto is also popular for its classy and spick & span interior design embellished with a hacienda-like ambience. It had also been a very relaxing experience for both me and my mom to dine on an outdoor table while watching colorful carps in a nearby, clear pond. Antonio’s, located in a one-hectare compound in the countryside, is a recognized Tagaytay restaurant with a wide range of gastronomic offerings such as duck leg confit on mesclun salad with pan-seared foie gras, steak tartare, scrrrumptious dark choco soufflé with cardamom crème anglaise, and grilled porterhouse steak (my favorite!) made to tickle every diner’s taste buds.
Another great thing about Antonio’s offerings is that its salad, for example, has vegetable ingredients fresh harvested from the owner’s garden itself.
Good news for coffeeholics like my Ryuji: Antonio’s expertly-brewed coffee is REFILLABLE! Yes, you’ve read it right. I’m just wondering now what Mom and I orderd – Arabica or Coffee Alamid? (Come on, Akiko!)
If you’ve already somewhere that Antonio’s offers corned beef as one of its offering, that’s right! And their corned beef is so tasty and tender to chew that I almost forgot my name! Just kidding! But take note: their corned beef is NOT canned. The corned beef we ate was made from a brisket submerged in brine over a few days and then boiled. Unique, right?
After this unforgettable dining experience with Mom, I can say that Antonio’s forte, like that of the culture of the country it belongs to – the Philippines, is that it serves exquisite food made with combined local and fresh ingredients with foreign ones like their salads’ cheese.
Chef Tony, get ready! I’ll be back for some more of your panna cotta!

Going to Tagaytay to visit some of the tourist attractions is definitely a vacation like no other. Yes, we all know the charms of Boracay and Camarines Sur but undeniably, there is this homey feeling only a place like Tagaytay possesses – specifically in the Picnic Grove. Definitely two of the most sought-after features of the Picnic Grove, cable cars and the ‘Zipline’ is 300 feet off the ground and almost 280-meters long. To add to every tourist’s excitement, it is even situated above the Eco-Adventure Trail.
Capable of carrying a weight of almost 3 tons, the cable cars are propelled by gravity to let passengers travel up to 60 km per hour.
I tell you, once in your whole lifetime, you should try this one! The feeling of a being hanged in the air 200 meters above the ground and seeing Taal Lake and Volcano is indescribable! How I miss the wonderful sights and experiences to discover in Tagaytay! It is not so far from Manila anyway and a 2-3 bus ride will do.
Considering the adventure it can give to a group even as big as a whole family, Tagaytay Zipline Rates are inexpensive. Tagaytay Zipline Rates are not that expensive considering that you’ll be exposed to once in a lifetime extreme experience. During weekdays, a single ride costs around PhP200.00 while it costs PhP300.00 per person during weekends. The best thing about riding in a cable car is that every ride has free 1 souvenir photo!
